Easter Market & Advent Market at Ludwigstein Castle

With great dedication, the members of the European Youth Weeks working group organise two special arts and crafts markets each year. The proceeds secure the financing of the European Youth Week and simultaneously create meeting places for guests, exhibitors, and volunteers.

Easter market

Arts and crafts, spring customs and encounters

The Easter market is an arts and crafts and producers' market, organised voluntarily by members of the European Youth Weeks working group. The aim is to secure funding for the European Youth Week in the summer with the proceeds.

Exhibitors from various regions of Germany present Easter traditions and handcrafted products. The artistic egg craft is particularly popular, where small works of art are created from eggs ranging from ostrich to budgie eggs.

The Easter market takes place in the accessible rooms of the old monastery and invites visitors to a relaxed stroll. Market stalls, spring decorations, and the aroma of bratwurst and crêpes create a lively atmosphere in the courtyard.

The cafeteria offers coffee and homemade cakes, while the Easter craft workshop invites visitors of all ages to participate. A raffle with handcrafted prizes completes the offerings.

Many exhibitors and members of the working group stay overnight at Ludwigstein Castle. The shared dinner on Saturday provides an opportunity for encounters, new contacts, and long-lasting friendships.

All details about the upcoming Easter market:

On the second Sunday of Advent, we transform Ludwigstein Castle into a festively decorated Christmas market. Exhibitors present their handcrafted works in the historic rooms and offer insights into traditional manufacturing techniques.

A particular highlight is the Christmas and nativity scene exhibition with exhibits from all over the world. The band of the working group and other groups will provide musical accompaniment to the market activities.

In the castle courtyard, a live nativity scene, mulled wine, crêpes, and bratwurst invite visitors to linger. The cafeteria offers homemade cakes baked by club members.

The Christmas craft workshop is open on both days and invites visitors of all ages to get creative. Sinterklaas from the Netherlands will be visiting the market and giving gifts to the children.

Like the Easter market, the Advent market is also organized entirely by volunteers and makes a significant contribution to financing the European Youth Week.
