 between both parts of Germany on November, 9th 1989, it was also possible for young people of Eastern Germany to take part in the activities of the European Youth Week. Fritz Lenz had the idea to set up a new nationwide dance group: "The Ludwigsteiners". Since 1991 the Ludwigsteiner Dance Group has acted as host group during the European Youth Week and represents german culture, songs and dances. Two years later Maike Lenz became the choreographer and with her leadership the group has grown by the designing and studying of a variety of wonderful dance programs:
